Uncle Thors Wood Shop

Uncle Thors Wood Shop is located in rural Pennsylvania, where we fell in love with old-fashioned wood carving. Uncle Thor, as Michael is affectionately called by his nieces and nephews, creates handcrafted utensils, kuskas, ale bowls, serving dishes, honorary ancestral art pieces and more from locally foraged fallen trees. There is passion and commitment to preserving the tradition of wood carving behind each piece made. Great care and respect is used in honoring traditional techniques from cutting to carving and oiling. Our pieces are made with the intent to last generations. In taking the time to make pieces by old "tried and true" techniques from master craftsmen, they are meant to withstand the purpose of there use.
